MaryAnn Janosik joined Dominican University as Interim Provost January 8, 2024. Throughout her career, she has served as Provost/Chief Academic Officer at several institutions, including St. Joseph College (IN) and, most recently, Harper College in Palatine, IL. She has also held leadership roles at Standford University, Oakton College, St. Catherine University (MN) and Ohio University.

MaryAnn received her Ph.D. in American Social History and Policy from Case Western Reserve University and holds a master's degree in history (Cleveland State University) and an AB with High Honors in History (Oberlin College). 

Before moving into higher education administration, she was the Director of Education at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Her research and teaching have been recognized with several awards, including First Place, Excellence in Research and Writing from the National Catholic Press Association for her monograph, "Madonnas in Our Midst: Representations of Women Religious in Hollywood Film," and the Roger and Anne Clapp Award for "Excellence in Teaching." Her book The Video Generation, was published by Greenwood Press as part of its history of rock series. 

MaryAnn is from Cleveland, OH and is a lifelong Cleveland Guardians fan. She is a classically trained organist and vocalist and enjoys reading, traveling, and going to movies and concerts. She also holds certification as a Zumba instructor.
