Undergraduate Programs

Dominican University offers several undergraduate programs in education. No matter which program you choose, you'll participate in meaningful field experiences in urban and multicultural settings and work with faculty mentors who are invested in your success. At Dominican, you'll experience the dynamic life of a thriving campus and meet students like yourself who are committed to the enduring values of scholarship, leadership and service.

Undergraduate education students can choose from a variety of academic concentrations, and can minor or major in another academic field while obtaining a professional teaching license. In addition, undergraduates can pursue a combined bachelor's and master's degree.

Applying to Teacher Education

Upon admission to the university, the first step for moving forward in the teacher education program is submission of a completed teacher education program application. To learn more, visit Applying to Teacher Education.

For a more complete description of the undergraduate program and course of study, please see the Dominican University Bulletin.

All undergraduate programs at Dominican meet the licensure requirements of the Illinois State Board of Education. Candidates who plan to teach in other states should consult the licensure requirements for those states and should elect courses within their undergraduate program that meet the special requirements of those states.
