International Students
Dominican—it’s all here.
Academic excellence
The Dominican experience is defined by our career-focused graduate and undergraduate academic programs. Designed to increase your marketability, our personalized approach to education means you’ll study in small classes where the student-to-faculty ratio is 12:1. This way, you’ll get to know your professors, and they’ll know you. This is one reason why the prestigious U.S. News and World Report ranks Dominican #1 in Illinois for undergraduate teaching.
Affordability
Dominican University is ranked the #1 Best Value in the Midwest and in the Top 20 out of more than 160 Midwest regional universities by the U.S. News and World Report. Dominican offers generous scholarships for international students including merit scholarships that range from $12,000 USD–$23,000 USD annually for first-year students, and $10,000 USD–$17,000 USD for transfer students.
Wraparound support
Dominican’s campus is warm, welcoming and diverse. We recognize that acclimating to the demands of college is challenging, especially for international students who are navigating academic and cultural changes, so our wraparound support ensures that you have what you need to thrive in your new environment. Our team works together to make sure that none of our students get left behind. Our Student Care Network ensures you have the physical, mental, social, technological and academic resources you need to be healthy, happy and successful at Dominican.
Opportunity
Internships are built right into the curriculum. So, you’ll be building your resume as you earn your credentials. You’ll also have opportunities to attend professional events and gain exposure to a wide variety of Chicago’s leading companies. Here, you don’t just earn your degree, you launch your career.
Results
The results speak for themselves: Within a year of graduation, 85% of our graduates are employed and 21% are enrolled in graduate school.
