Learn about your next steps below:
Pay Your Tuition Deposit
Start by paying your tuition deposit—this lets us know you’re coming and secures your place in the entering class at our Chicago Campus. The $200 tuition deposit is refundable until May 1. Please note that no housing deposit is needed. Because housing is required in your first year of the program, you are guaranteed a spot in the residence hall.
Check Out Your Admission Portal
Watch your inbox for an important email from us containing information you will need to access Dominican's Admission Portal.
Register for Admitted Student Day
Admitted Student Day is your chance to connect with your future classmates and get all the details about this immersive living-learning program. You'll receive information on online registration when it becomes available. You can also arrange a personal visit to discuss your academic interests, degree requirements and financial aid.
Apply for Housing
Living on campus in the La Casa Residence Hall is required in year one of the program. Please complete your housing application as soon as possible to provide us with the information needed to assign your room and roommate.
Apply for Financial Aid
Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Dominican University’s code is 001750. The FAFSA is required if you wish to be considered for need-based financial aid. Students who are ineligible to file the FAFSA and are Illinois residents can complete the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid. Questions? Call (708) 524-6809 or email finaid@dom.edu.
You should also finalize your financial aid by submitting any requested documents made by our Office of Financial Aid. These documents may include a verification worksheet, tax transcript, W2 Form, Checklist for Direct Student Loan, etc.
Submit Your Transcripts
Please request a final official transcript (including your graduation date) from your high school and have the transcript sent to Dominican. Your institution can send the official electronic copies to domadmis@dom.edu or mail it to:
Dominican University
Attn: Enrollment Operations
7900 W. Division Street
River Forest, IL 60305
Photocopies and faxes of transcripts cannot be accepted as official. Mailed official transcripts must be received in unopened envelopes, sealed by the high school/institution.
Attend Your Registration and Orientation Program
We’ve developed a program to welcome you into the Dominican University community and give you the tools to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. You’ll meet with your academic advisor and register for classes, learn about campus resources, and meet your fellow classmates.
SOAR (Student orientation, advising and registration) is required for all new Dominican students and takes place toward the end of summer. You will be contacted by email when registration opens. Online assessments may be required prior to your session to help in creating your course schedule.
Submit Your Health Records
After you have attended SOAR, you can submit your health information on the Wellness Center's student portal. Email the Wellness Center with questions.
Complete Required Title IX Training
Dominican University requires that all new students complete online training that will help you further understand important topics like sexual harassment and bystander intervention. Invitations will be sent to your Dominican email at the end of the summer.
Get Ready for Welcome Weekend
Before classes begin, we kick off the fall semester with Welcome Weekend. Dates will be released in early summer. The fun will begin with move-in day and be followed by orientation programs for you and your family, including social events designed to connect you with your new community. Keep an eye on your inbox for registration details as they become available.
