On Faith and AI

In light of Pope Leo’s encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, Fr. Enzo Del Brocco, CP, will be presenting on faith, and its place and relationship with artificial intelligence. Fr. Enzo will explore how we navigate the ever-changing world of technological advancement while maintaining and supporting the human dignity of all people. The environmental impact of AI, not just on the climate but on our human capacity for intelligence, has concerns beyond the use of energy and resources. As people of faith, we have a responsibility to consider the marginalized, the vulnerable, and the forgotten as children of God, especially as they are overlooked in the fast-paced development of artificial intelligence. Fr. Enzo was born in Pittsburgh and after spending his childhood in the USA he moved to Italy with his family. He became a Passionist in 1991 and was ordained Priest in 1996. He holds a Licentiate in Moral Theology, a master’s degree in human resources, a Certification in Catholic Bioethics and has a PhD in Healthcare Ethics. 

He is the ninth president of Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, IL. He emphasizes hope as prayer and action, seeing the cross of Christ as the anchor that sustains faith in the face of fear and uncertainty The Passionists of Holy Cross Province. He advocates for preparing students to be missionary leaders and lay ministers, fostering justice, love, and peace in a fractured world.
