Expanding Relationships: Libraries' Impact on the Global Community
Lynn Silipigni Connaway, Follett Chair
Library leaders and staff have opportunities to develop relationships, policies, and practices for a global community, focusing on evolving community needs. By applying a global perspective, leaders and staff can embrace the opportunity to review and revise metadata, collections, and programming to meet global demands and diverse perspectives. They will integrate new technologies for discovery, access, and teaching digital literacies for a global community. The success of focusing on a global community will be dependent upon local and global relationship building and staff adaptability and the desire and motivation for change.
