Susan Dehn Matthews holds a Master of Arts degree in Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry from Mundelein College of Loyola University, Chicago, as well as a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Dominican University, River Forest. Her areas of professional interest include women’s spirituality, Creation-centered spirituality, and Scriptural interpretation and reflection, all of which are reflected in the courses she has taught at Dominican. These include: THEO 103 Introduction to Roman Catholicism; THEO 257 Women and Religion; THEO 262 Mary Magdalene Revealed; and LAS 237 Globalization and Personal Spirituality. Susan has served as a certified pastoral associate in the Archdiocese of Chicago, and is also trained and certified as a spiritual director. In recent years, she served as a visiting faculty member for the Hesburgh Sabbatical Program at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and presented a variety of workshops and evenings of reflection for parishes and schools in the Chicago/Joliet area.
