Teirra Scott, MAT ’17, has joined the 2024-25 Obama Foundation Leaders program, which trains participants in leadership development and civic engagement.

Scott is one of 100 participants selected for the program in the United States. Over six months, she will participate in interactive sessions focused on building leadership skills, fostering impactful relationships and engaging with members of the Obama Foundation community, the Foundation Leaders program said.

Scott will also have access to “unique virtual experiences, one-on-one mentorship, and opportunities to connect within a global network of leaders dedicated to positive change,” according to the program.

Scott is the founder and executive director of Goddess Mentoring, which focuses on empowering young women and girls by helping them build self-confidence, community engagement, financial literacy, and wellbeing.

Previously, Scott was a managing director and leadership coach for Teach for America, and an educator in Chicago Public Schools for six years.
