Education Alumna is Finalist for Teach for America Award

Elizabeth Jamison-Dunn, MAEd ’13 is one of two finalists for Teach for America’s Greater Chicago-Northwest Indiana’s Alumni of the Year Award.
Jamison-Dunn is principal of Catalyst Circle Rock Charter School in Chicago’s Austin community.
Teach for America is a national nonprofit that places recent college graduates in teaching positions at schools that are underserved. The organization placed Jamison-Dunn as an eighth-grade teacher at Catalyst Circle Rock in 2007, when the school opened.
“I have worked really hard to try to do right by my school community,” Jamison-Dunn told Austin Weekly News. “My favorite part about my job is knowing that what I do matters, and it matters every day.”
