Impact of Libraries on the Global Community is Topic of Follett Lecture
River Forest, IL—Dr. Lynn Silipigni Connaway will present “Expanding Relationships: Libraries' Impact on the Global Community,” during the annual Follett Lecture on Monday, April 18 at Dominican University in River Forest.
The lecture will take place at 6 p.m. inside the Performing Arts Center’s Martin Recital Hall on the university campus at 7900 W. Division St.
Connaway will discuss how library leaders and staff can apply a global perspective to embrace opportunities to review and revise metadata, collections and programming in order to meet global demands and diverse perspectives.
Connaway is the executive director of research for OCLC, formerly known as the Online Computer Library Center, a global library organization providing shared technology services, original research and programs for the library community.
As this year’s Follett Chair, she teaches a course in research methods and design for Ph.D. students in Dominican's School of Information Studies.
The Follett Chair in the School of Information Studies is a high academic honor established by Dominican University and the Follett Corporation in 2002.
