School of Information Studies Alumna Appointed to Michigan State Library Board
Melissa Lambert MLIS ’13 was recently named to the Library of Michigan Board of Trustees.
Lambert works as a school library media specialist at Allen Park High School in Allen Park, Michigan, a city just outside Detroit. Under Lambert’s leadership, the school’s library was recognized as Michigan’s 2023-24 Model 21st Century School Library.
As a member of the Library of Michigan Board of Trustees, Lambert will represent K-12 school librarians for a term of just over two years. The board makes recommendations to the Michigan Department of Education regarding the Library of Michigan’s services, budget and proposed governing rules.
The Board of Trustees also recommend the employment of other administrative and general assistants and employees of the Library of Michigan.
