Prepare to Tackle the Challenges Created by Rapid Advancements in Information Technology

Cybersecurity governance and management ensures that information security strategies support organizational goals and objectives, are aligned with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and are implemented through policies and internal controls, with oversight for risk mitigation. Through immersive classes and a dynamic curriculum, you’ll develop both the theoretical foundation and the fundamental skills needed for today’s cyber workforce. This four-course certificate is delivered fully online in an eight-week format, offering you the flexibility to complete the coursework quickly—from anywhere.

Dominican’s Certificate in Cybersecurity Governance provides:

  • a theoretical foundation of the legal and regulatory requirements of information; the social and policy issues surrounding information security; risk management and mitigation; data security, security threats, counter-attack, and defense services; and cybersecurity organizational planning, implementation, and management.
  • a practical foundation which includes understanding and applying tools for proactive defense, policy development, and risk assessment.

Certificate Requirements and Curriculum

This certificate is offered:

Students who graduate with a Dominican master’s degree lacking one or more courses towards a certificate can enroll in the course(s) any time within five years of graduating in order to add the certificate to their degree. Students must enroll as a student-at-large (credit-bearing), not as an auditor (non-credit-bearing).

Students who enroll in the post-baccalaureate certificate program can transfer their credits to a full master’s degree if the entire program is completed within six years.

This certificate will serve as a bridge to both the DU MSIM and the DU MBA degree programs.
