Local ISPP Program Requirements
  • Completed online application
  • Official transcripts from all college-level institutions attended
  • Confirmation of successfully completed graduate degree via official transcript that includes conferral date and type of degree
  • Documentation of DICAS/D&D Non-Match
  • DPD Verification Statement (original or color-scanned PDF of document)
  • Two professional references; one from a work/volunteer supervisor and one from a professor/instructor
  • Personal statement. Personal statement should be 2–3 pages, double-spaced, with one-inch margins all around. Please discuss your strengths/weaknesses, personal definition of professionalism, and career aspirations.

Distance ISPP Program Requirements

  • Confirmation of successfully completed graduate degree via official transcript that includes conferral date and type of degree

  • Submit contact information for two sources of reference. Please select individuals who can provide a reference that assesses your ability to be a self-starter who has demonstrated being proactive and working independently: a work/volunteer supervisor and a professor/instructor. Once you provide the contact information of your references, they will receive an email with a link to submit their reference form to your application.
  • Personal statement. Personal statement should be no more than 2–3 pages, double-spaced, with one-inch margins all around. Please discuss your interest in nutrition and dietetics, your career aspirations, your strengths and areas for improvement, and what contributions you would like to make to the profession. As part of your personal statement, please tell us about a time when you had to work through a problem independently or start something on your own. Describe the situation along with how you handled it and what the outcome was.

Application Deadline

The application deadline for the fall semester is July 1; spring semester, November 20.

International Students

International students requiring an I-20 or DS 2019 may not apply, since this program is offered primarily online.

Additional Admission Consideration

Conditional program acceptance may be granted with requirement of successful completion of specified coursework/classes prior to starting the program’s supervised practice rotation courses based on (a) recency of coursework, (b) content of previous courses taken, and (c) grades earned as determined by program review of transcripts and course syllabi. Conditional acceptance may include requirement for repeat of or additional courses (including any course(s) for which successful completion is prerequisite to registration in required DPD courses) and all necessary documentation via college/university transcripts to confirm grades.
