Audit Policy
Auditing a class applies to alumni and current Dominican University students only. If you are not an alumna/us or current DU student and want to take courses without committing to a full degree, learn more about Student-at-Large admission.
Graduate Programs
Brennan School of Business
- Brennan School of Business alumni can audit a Brennan School of Business class at 50% tuition cost plus fees.
College of Applied Social Sciences
- Mediation and Conflict Resolution alumni can audit a Mediation and Conflict Resolution class for no cost plus fees.
- Trauma Informed Leadership alumni can audit a Trauma Informed Leadership class for no cost plus fees.
School of Education
- School of Education alumni can audit a School of Education class in their degree area for no cost plus fees.
School of Information Studies
- School of Information Studies alumni can audit a School of Information Studies class in their degree area for no cost plus fees.
School of Social Work
- School of Social Work alumni can audit a School of Social Work class for no cost plus fees.
Current graduate students of Dominican University may audit graduate courses within their degree program at the full tuition rate. Please note: audited courses do not count as hours completed toward a degree program.
Undergraduate Programs
Rosary College of Arts and Sciences
- Rosary College of Arts and Sciences alumni can audit a RCAS class at no tuition cost plus fees.
College of Applied Social Sciences
- Bachelor of Professional Studies alumni can audit a course in the BPS program at no tuition cost plus fees.
- Informatics alumni can audit an Informatics or RCAS course at no tuition cost plus fees
College of Health Sciences
- Post-Baccalaureate alumni can audit a post-baccalaureate or RCAS class at no tuition cost plus fees.
Current undergraduate students of Dominican University may audit undergraduate courses at a 50% reduction in tuition. Summer classes may be audited at a 50% reduction of the summer tuition rate. Students will be responsible for all fees. Please note: audited classes do not count as hours completed toward a degree program.
Auditing is not permitted in studio courses in art, music or theater; physical education courses; independent/directed study, service learning and other courses as designated by the colleges.
