Your Adventure Starts Here

The coming weeks and months are full of important milestones that mark the beginning of your adventure at Dominican University. We will be sending you individual reminders for each of these tasks, but here is a summary of what’s on the horizon. You'll be able to complete nearly all of these items in our Admission Portal. Watch your email inbox closely for updates.

Apply for financial aid

Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. Dominican University’s code is 001750. The FAFSA is required if you wish to be considered for need-based financial aid. Students who are ineligible to file the FAFSA and are Illinois residents can complete the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid. Questions? Call (708) 524-6809 or email finaid@dom.edu.

Register for Admitted Student Day

Admitted Student Day is your chance to connect with your future classmates and get all the details about this immersive living-learing program. Admitted Student Day will take place in late Spring and you'll receive information on online registration when it becomes available.

Pay your tuition deposit

Let us know you’re coming by completing your official enrollment. Visit dom.edu/deposit to pay your tuition deposit (refundable until June 1). This reserves your place at Dominican and qualifies you to sign up for orientation where you'll register for classes.

Submit official transcripts

Before you attend orientation, arrange to have your official final high school transcript, sent to Dominican University, Attn: Office of Undergraduate Admission, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest, IL, 60305. We need these to comply with state and federal regulations for financial aid eligibility, and to advise you on course selection and registration.

Register for SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising and Registration)

SOAR is required for all new Dominican students and takes place toward the end of summer. You will be contacted by email when registration opens. Online assessments may be required prior to your session to help in creating your course schedule. At the event, you’ll meet with your academic advisor and register for classes, learn about campus resources, and meet your fellow classmates.

Upload health records

It’s important to submit the required health and immunization forms to the Wellness Center Online at dom.medicatconnect.com prior to your first class. Questions? Call us at (708) 524-6229 or email
wellness@dom.edu.

Complete Required Title IX Training

Dominican University requires that all new students complete online training that will help you further understand important topics like sexual harassment and bystander intervention. Invitations will be sent to your Dominican email at the end of the summer.

Get ready for Welcome Weekend

Before classes begin, we kick off the fall semester with Welcome Weekend. Dates will be released in early summer. The fun will begin with move-in day and be followed by orientation programs for you and your family, including social events designed to connect you with your new community. Keep an eye on your inbox for registration details as they become available.

Get Ready to Go First

As you take your next steps to becoming a Star, we will be with you every step of the way.
