Your Adventure Starts Here

The coming weeks and months are full of important milestones that mark the beginning of your Dominican adventure. We will be sending you individual reminders for each of these tasks, but here is a summary of what’s on the horizon. You'll be able to complete nearly all of these items in our Admitted Student Portal. Watch for information on how to access the portal in your email inbox.

Visit campus

The best way to experience what Dominican is all about? Visit! We’ll show you around, introduce you to professors and current students, and answer your questions. Prefer to meet online? We're happy to chat via Zoom. Schedule your visit at (708) 524-6800 or dom.edu/visit.

Apply for Financial Aid

Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov.Dominican University’s code is 001750. The FAFSA is required if you wish to be considered for need-based financial aid. Questions? Call (708) 524-6809 or email finaid@dom.edu.

Register for Admitted Student Day

Online registration for Admitted Student Days begins in January at dom.edu/ASD. Learn about your life at Dominican by attending a class, meeting with the admission and financial aid staff and hearing tips from current Dominican students on how to make the most of career-building internships, leadership programs, study abroad programs, championship-level NCAA Division III athletics, sponsored undergraduate research—and so much more.

Pay your Tuition Deposit

Let us know you’re coming by completing your official enrollment. Visit dom.edu/deposit to pay your tuition deposit (refundable until June 1). This reserves your place at Dominican and qualifies you to apply for campus housing as well as sign up for orientation where you'll register for classes.

Apply for Campus Housing (Residents)

If you plan to live on campus, you must submit a housing application along with a $200 housing deposit to secure your on-campus residency. The housing application is available in March at dom.edu/housing. Given the high demand for housing, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

Submit Official Transcripts

Before you attend SOAR, arrange to have your official final high school transcript, AP and/or IB test scores sent to Dominican University, Attn: Office of Undergraduate Admission, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest, IL, 60305. We need these to comply with state and federal regulations for financial aid eligibility, and to advise you on course selection
and registration.

Register for SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising and Registration)

SOAR is required for all new Dominican students and takes place throughout the summer. Registration opens in late Spring at dom.edu/SOAR and online assessments may be required prior to your session to help in creating your course schedule. At the event, you’ll meet with your academic advisor and register for classes, learn about campus resources, and meet both new and current students.

Upload Health Records

It’s important to submit the required health and immunization forms to the Wellness Center Online at dom.medicatconnect.com prior to your first class. Questions? Call us at (708) 524-6229 or email wellness@dom.edu.

Complete Required Title IX Training

Dominican University requires that all new students complete online training that will help you further understand important topics like sexual harassment and bystander intervention. Invitations will be sent to your Dominican email at the end of the summer.

Get Ready for Welcome Weekend

Before classes begin, we kick off the fall semester with Welcome Weekend on August 23–25. Friday is move-in day for our resident students. Saturday offers orientation programs for you and your family, Mass of the Holy Spirit to bless our newest community members, and a student social that evening. On Sunday, we celebrate with DU Fest, an outdoor campus-wide festival for students in the afternoon. Register in late Spring at dom.edu/welcome-weekend.
