Alumna, Hospice CEO is Recipient of Woman-Led Company Award in Nevada

Karen Rubel MAEA ’95 is the recipient of the 2023 Woman-Led Company Award from Nevada Top Workplaces.

Rubel is president and CEO of Nathan Adelson Hospice, the only nonprofit hospice in Southern Nevada.

According to Las Vegas Business Press, Rubel was recognized with the award “for her continuing commitment to creating an excellent workplace for her staff, patients and families and for the organization continuing to improve in Top Workplaces’s rankings.” 

Alumna Monica Laddaran Honored with Award from National Mentorship Organization

Monica Laddaran ’22 is the recipient of a 2023 Inspiration Award from Step Up, a national nonprofit mentoring organization for young women and girls.

The Young Adult Honoree award recognizes young adults like Laddaran who have participated in Step Up programing with a dedication to advancing themselves and their careers, said Kathryn Robinson, vice president of programs at Step Up.

Dominican University alum Keith Reardon ’23 is highlighted in an article published by the Wednesday Journal of Oak Park.

“From Janitor to Middle-School Classroom” tells the story of Reardon’s return to higher education to obtain a teaching degree after working for several years as a custodian for Oak Park Elementary School District 97. Reardon’s story was first shared in the Spring 2023 edition of Dominican Magazine.
