The volunteer initiative was led by Nelly Musajeva, a neurobiology and biochemistry major at Dominican.

The showcase gave students an opportunity to discuss projects, internships and academic accomplishments.

Dr. John Planek, director of intercollegiate athletics at Dominican University, is featured in a Chicago Catholic newspaper article about the involvement of laity in religious life.

The Nov. 29 story, entitled “Third Orders Secular Offer Laity Alternative to Religious Life,” includes interviews with several laymen and laywomen who are members of a “third order secular”—devoutly Catholic individuals who live outside an ordained religious life, but are associated with a particular order.

Dominican University is noted in a WBEZ feature story examining entertainment venues in the West Suburbs.

Published on Dec. 4, “New Clubs, Bigger Acts: Could the Western Suburbs be Chicago’s Next Big Music Destination?” notes that “escalating rents and property values in Chicago are driving people west to buy homes or rent, so an audience of ex-urbanites is on the rise.”
